Solution: Vertex engineered the Shark® 270, a socket form power meter with advanced revenue metering capabilities, including energy measurement, transformer/line loss compensation, and extensive logging. The design prioritized a robust, weather-resistant structure, streamlined assembly, and accessible maintenance, incorporating a modern aesthetic to refresh industry standards.
Outcome: The Shark® 270 achieved finalist status in Plant Engineering’s Product of the Year contest in the Energy Management category, delivering 0.1% energy accuracy, enhanced durability, and efficient field installation, establishing it as a leading solution for utility, industrial, and commercial metering worldwide.
