Vertex took on the task of developing an innovative wellness mask incorporating LED lights, infrared lights, and electromagnetic fields for a new company. The primary objectives were to design a mask suitable for 80% of female faces and integrate strategically placed acupressure points to enhance user experience and treatment efficacy.
The design process presented unique challenges, particularly in CAD modeling, given the mask's amorphic shape. Vertex engineers employed a combination of surface and solid modeling techniques to overcome this hurdle effectively. Additionally, electrical engineering played a crucial role in designing a paper-thin circuit board capable of accommodating all necessary electronics while maintaining a foldable form factor to fit within the mask's ¼-inch thick double-wall construction.
By addressing these challenges head-on, Vertex successfully developed a cutting-edge wellness mask that not only met the client's specifications but also offered enhanced comfort, functionality, and treatment effectiveness for users.
